
Nia is an exciting, low impact exercise modality that focuses on helping participants to increase their flexibility, agility, stability, mobility, and strength through free-form movement. Nia is a great alternative for anyone who enjoys group exercise but considers the routines of aerobic classes and athletic clubs to be a bit of a grind. Nia is also an inspiring, playful option for participants who want to embrace the process of how their bodies feel in movement.
Each 60-minute class borrows basic movements and philosophies from the Martial Arts, Dance Arts, and Healing Arts. The three art forms are blended into routines that are presented in an organized, yet free flowing fashion. And best of all, each class is set to great music that enlivens movement and builds body awareness. No previous experience is necessary, and all skill levels – female and male – are welcome.
