Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

Holistic Healing Space, LLC is located in the Cherry Creek area. I’m on South Madison Street between Bayaud and Alameda Avenues.

Is free parking available?

What do you charge?

I charge $85 for 60 minutes, $110 for 90 minutes, and $135 for 120 minutes. I also offer packages that can save you money and I also occasionally offer specials.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, checks, and credit card payments.

Do you take insurance?

I do not work with insurance companies directly. However, I’m happy to offer my clients receipts of their visits. Clients can submit the receipts to their insurance companies in order to be reimbursed.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Absolutely! And if you have special instructions or a special request, let me know.

What are your qualifications?

I am a 1998 graduate of Boulder College of Massage Therapy; one of the best massage schools in the country. I graduated with more than 1000 hours of massage training (Colorado requires 500 hours from an accredited massage school in order to practice legally in this state). I have received certifications in Maya Abdominal Massage, Prenatal/Postpartum Massage, and Transformational Breath®. I have taken classes in aromatherapy, green pharmacy preparations, medical intuiton, and Spiritual Plant Healing.

What is the difference between receiving work at Holistic Healing Space, LLC, and receiving work at a “big box” massage franchise?

There are a number of differences, in my opinion. While there are many skilled massage practitioners who work at franchises, there is no guarantee that a client will be able to see their practitioner of choice every time. When you make an appointment at Holistic Healing Space, LLC, you will see me every time. The benefit is that you will receive more consistent personalized attention. We will get to know each other better and I will get to know your body much better. I keep notes on each visit so I can maintain familiarity with your needs. Another benefit to receiving work at Holistic Healing Space, LLC, is that I am highly skilled and have a deep understanding of the body, mind, emotions and spirit. In addition to graduating from one of the best Massage schools in the country, I have received advanced training in a number of different modalities and I have been in practice since 1998. I also enhance my sessions with the use complementary elements like essential oils, heat packs, moxabustion, cupping, breath work and energy work, and Spiritual Plant Healing when needed. Many businesses will charge for these add-ons, if they offer them at all. All in all, you will receive a deeper, more well rounded experience at Holistic Healing Space.

Your literature says you offer deeper, therapeutic massage work…does that hurt?

Great question! My answer is not necessarily. Deeper work not only increases circulation, it reorganizes tight muscle tissue so that it relaxes properly and functions more effectively. You might feel some tightness and/or tenderness in your muscles during the session. If you feel that the pressure is to deep for you, simply let me know. It is important to me that I work with you within your comfort level and that you be an active participant in your healing.

How often should I get bodywork?

Generally, I recommend that clients come to see me once a month for health maintenance. If a client can come in every two weeks, that is great too! I also recommend that a client see me every two weeks if they are recovering and rebuilding from an injury or surgery. I recommend that clients come to see me once a week for several weeks if they are in the acute phase of an injury.

Will I feel anything after a massage?

Yes. Most clients feel much more relaxed and will experience more mobility in their muscles. They often sleep very well after receiving bodywork too! Sometimes a client might feel achiness in their muscles after a massage. That is okay. The achiness is often a result of the muscles acclimating to its more relaxed, homeostatic position. I recommend that my clients soak in a tub with sea salts after a massage to alleviate the achiness (I offer each client a complementary packet of salt with each massage). The achiness may for a day or two, if that. If the achiness lasts longer than three days, let me know.

Why do I need to learn how to breathe? I’m alive, aren’t I?

This is a good question! The issue isn’t about learning how to breathe; the issue is about learning to breathe effectively. The reason why this is important is because breathing more effectively can improve your abdominal muscle tone, massage your organs, support your immune system, access and release emotional hooks at the cellular level, improves mental clarity and helps us to connect more fully with ourselves and others. I know…tall order. However, this work is amazing! Let me show you why.

Does it hurt?

No, the work itself is gentle and loving. Most clients feel much more open and connected after a session. More important, everyone I have worked with have experienced what a full, open breath feels like and are much more mindful of maintaining this supportive breath pattern.

How do I receive Transformational Breath facilitation?

Come to my office for a private or semi private (two people) session. I also offer group classes…check out my Upcoming Events page for a class schedule.

What is Spiritual Plant Healing?

Spiritual plant healing is a Traditional Maya technique that is amazingly helpful for clients who are experiencing emotional trauma that they are having difficulty releasing. It incorporates the use of copal, an herbal water preparation, plants, and prayers and can be done while a client is reclined and fully clothed. It is really gentle and opening.

Be honest, does it work?

Yes. I have had clients who have received a lot of relief from this work. I have also benefitted…I participated in a training that left me unable to stop crying. I literally cried for days. I felt that buried emotions were finally surfacing and, frankly, I was completely unnerved by the whole experience; I felt as if I was experiencing PTSD (and I don’t say that lightly). An hour before leaving the training, I asked the trainer—Rosita Arvigo, the amazing intstructor of The Arvigo Techniques Maya Abdominal Massage—to help me out. She sat me down and did some plant healing on me. I felt the despair and heaviness just melt away…it was amazing! I stopped crying within 30 minutes. I made it a point to learn this technique and I offer this modality BECAUSE I know what this modality can achieve.

Why do you offer supplements and nutrition consultations?

I have this offering because I strongly believe in offering a holistic approach to wellness; it is just as important to be healthy on the inside as it is on the outside. My massage school believed in that philosophy as well…nutrition was a class students were required to take in order to graduate. I also have a lot of clients who have asked me for advise over the years regarding nutrition and supplementation. It felt like a natural progression. I also found a company whose proven high quality products I believe in fully.

How much does a consultation cost?

Each 15 minute consultation is complementary. I will have you complete an online health assessment so that when you come to see me, I can help you choose the products that best meet your needs.

Will I be required to sell anything?

Great question. No, you won’t. However, let me know if you like the product line and you would like to start your own business with this company. I’d be happy to assist.
